Hagstotz ITM has been supporting a little girl in Sierra Leone for over a year. Our godchild is called Abie and is eight years old. Living conditions, especially for children, are still very poor due to the long years of civil war in Sierra Leone.
Our sponsorship at Plan International stands under the Motto “Help for Self-Help”. That means the sponsorship finances sustainable and children-orientated self-help projects such as the founding of schools, training initiatives for teachers, or educational campaigns for health issues. It is especially important for us that Plan International not only provides financial means but also possesses the necessary knowledge which can be passed onto local communities. This way our sponsorship not only benefits the child but also its environment. The goal is to involve all community members in the projects so that individual responsibility can be developed, which ensures sustainable continuation of the projects.
